How to Make Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit Sandwiches

This sticky chicken and biscuit sandwich recipe is so easy!

To make this, start by cooking the chicken tenders according to directions on the package.

I recommend using your favorite brand of frozen chicken tenders to cut down on the prep time, but you can absolutely use your favorite homemade version if that fits your preference better.

While the chicken cooks, melt the butter in a small pot on the stove. When the butter has melted, add the honey, garlic and hot sauce. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes, whisking often.

Now, mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl until evenly combined.

Pour the cornstarch slurry mixture into the honey mixture. Then let the glaze simmer another minute or two, just until it gets glossy and thick.

You’ll know it’s done if it coats the back of a spoon. At this point, remove the glaze from the heat and set aside.

Now add the chicken tenders to a large bowl and pour the sweet and spicy glaze over top, tossing gently until they’re all evenly coated in the spicy honey butter glaze.

To serve, slice the biscuits in half and put a glazed tender in the center of each. Enjoy!

Storing

While these hot honey chicken sandwiches are a delicious combination, they don’t store well once put together.

Instead store the individual components separately so that the chicken doesn’t turn the biscuits soggy.

The hot honey butter glazed chicken tenders can be stored in an airtight container and refrigerated for up to 3 days.

Simply reheat, assemble, and serve when ready to enjoy them again.

What To Serve With Fried Chicken Biscuits

I love serving these sweet and spicy sticky chicken and biscuit sandwiches with either traditional fried chicken sides like mashed potatoes & green beans or with picnic type sides.

Coleslaw and potato salad would both pair really well with these.

And don’t forget to wash them down with a big glass of sweet tea!

Tips and Tricks

  • Use frozen or premade chicken tenders to cut down on the prep time.
  • If you want that biscuit flavor without the work use store bought biscuits, or even pick up a batch from your favorite fast food joint. However you can use these homemade copycat KFC biscuits, if you prefer a from scratch version.
  • You can adjust the heat level by adjusting the amount of hot sauce you use. Less hot sauce for less heat.
  • Use a good quality hot sauce for the glaze. I like Frank’s Red Hot, but use your favorite brand since this will be a predominant flavor that shines through.
  • Less garlic will also give it a more mild flavor.
  • For an Asian inspired sticky chicken spin, sub Sriracha for the hot sauce.

    1. Sorry for the late reply, Sam! I usually use 6 biscuits & six chicken tenders for this recipe and find it’s the perfect amount of sauce. If you want to make a larger batch, the sauce is easy to double or even triple.
