Ranch Chicken Tacos

Ranch chicken tacos are the Tex Mex meal for anyone who loves Cool Ranch Doritos. This super easy recipe will be your favorite way to update taco night anytime.

Tacos and ranch dressing are two staples in this house.

And this meal is basically what you get when you combine the two.

If you aren’t diehard ranch fans the way we are you might think it doesn’t belong on tacos, but stick with me here.

It turns chicken tacos from sort of ho hum to amazing with a flavor that tastes almost exactly like the Cool Ranch Doritos.

Plus it’s quick and easy and everyone in your house will love it!

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Chicken– You can use a grocery store rotisserie chicken, leftover grilled or roast chicken. Just make sure it’s chopped, sliced, or pulled.
  • Taco seasoning– A packet of your favorite kind.
  • Ranch dressing– Your favorite brand.
  • Taco shells– You could also use tortillas or tostados.
  • Other toppings– Shredded lettuce, cheese, diced tomatoes, jalapenos, avocado, etc.

How to Make

These chicken tacos are so quick and easy!

To do it, heat a skillet over medium high heat.

Once the skillet is hot, add the chicken and let it warm for a few minutes.

Then, sprinkle on the dry taco seasoning but do not add any water!

Heat the chicken for 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is heated through and the powder is stuck to the chicken.

Add the ranch dressing to the skillet and heat an additional 2-3 minutes to warm it through.

Serve in taco shells with the toppings of your choice and an extra drizzle of Ranch.

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Tips and Tricks

  • For a spicy version, use spicy ranch dressing or spicy taco seasoning.
  • It doesn’t matter if you use chicken taco seasoning or beef taco seasoning.
  • You can easily double this to feed a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chunked chicken
  • 1 package taco seasoning chicken or beef
  • 1/2 cup Ranch dressing plus extra for serving
  • 12 taco shells tortilla, or tostadas
  • lettuce
  • cheese
  • tomatoes
  • any of your other favorite taco toppings

Instructions

    1. Me too, Lori! These were a perfect flavor fix. The only downside is that now, well I’m fairly confident, that regular ol’ ground beef tacos will never be the same again. Oh, well. It was worth it!
