I love a good dip recipe for the holidays, Super Bowl, Easter, Mother’s Day… pretty much anytime.

Let’s take the holidays as a good example.

Everyone gets all caught up in the main dishes like the turkey or the holiday roast, the stuffing, the mashed potatoes.

All those things are delicious of course, but let’s not forget the appetizers!

If your guests are anything like mine, then they show up having skipped breakfast and totally starving trying to hold out for the main course.

That’s where this hot ham dip comes in!

This easy dip recipe is super delicious with its cheesy base and classic flavors.

Plus you don’t need to dirty a bunch of dishes to make it and you can just serve it up with some crackers or a sliced baguette. So easy!

And that’s exactly the kind of appetizer you need to make entertaining easy.

What to Serve with Ham and Swiss Dip

I like serving this dip with slices of baguette or sturdy crackers.

But you could also put out other dippers so you have extra variety.

It would also be delicious with:

  • pita bread wedges
  • pretzels
  • tortilla chips
  • veggie sticks

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers either tightly wrapped with foil in the baking dish in the fridge or transfer the leftover dip to an airtight container and put that in the fridge.

It will keep for about 3 days.

Before enjoying the leftovers, either reheat it in the microwave or the oven until warmed through.

Tips and Tricks

  • Swiss not your thing? Substitute all cheddar cheese or use another cheese you like.
  • The cayenne pepper is optional and adding a little doesn’t make it spicy. It just adds mores of a warming sensation to it.
  • This is perfect for using up leftover ham.
