Buffalo chicken holds a special place in all our hearts.

I mean, of course it does.

It’s so dang delicious with its addicting spiciness.

And combine it with a creamy, cheesy base perfect for dragging a chip through.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Chicken– Canned chunked chicken breast, drained
  • Cream cheese– Softened
  • Hot sauce– I highly recommend using Frank’s hot sauce for the best flavor.
  • Sour cream– Full fat is best
  • Ranch dressing– Your favorite brand
  • Cheese– Shredded cheddar

How to Make

Buffalo chicken dip is so easy to throw together!

Just add all of the ingredients to a large mixing bowl and whip it all together using a hand mixer until evenly combined.

Spread the mixture out in an even layer on a lightly greased baking dish.

Top with a small sprinkle of extra shredded cheddar in an even layer.

Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until bubbling.

Serve warm with your favorite dipping options.

  • sliced baguettes
  • celery sticks
  • carrot sticks
  • sliced radishes
  • crackers

To feed a crowd, put out a variety of options!

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in a hot oven or microwave until warmed through.

Freezing Instructions

You can freeze this buffalo chicken dip safely for up to 3 months.

To freeze, spread the mixed dip evenly out in an aluminum tray.

Cover the tray tightly, first with a layer of plastic wrap and then a layer of foil.

This extra layer will help preserve freshness and prevent freezer burn.

Thaw in the refrigerator overnight, uncover, and bake as instructed OR add the still frozen dip to the oven while it preheats and bake for 30 minutes.

How to Make Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Dip

Mix the dip as instructed above and then spoon the mixed dip into the greased bowl of a slow cooker, and spread out in an even layer.

Cover and cook on LOW for 2 hours or until the dip is hot and bubbly.

Stir before serving.

Tips and Tricks

  • For a vegetarian option, use finely chopped fresh cauliflower in place of the chicken.
  • Want it cheesier? You can use a blend of half mozzarella and half cheddar!
  • Like things on the spicier side? Drizzle with hot sauce before serving, add in some extra sauce to the mix, or add 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper to the mix.
