What is a Cuban Sandwich?

Have you ever had a Cuban sandwich? They are so good.

Cuban sandwiches are a popular ham and cheese variation in Florida.

A Cuban sandwich normally has Cuban bread, ham,Swiss cheese, pickles, and grainy mustard. Sometimes you’ll find other ingredients like pork or mayo.

My Cuban ham salad takes those flavors and puts them into a delicious deli salad you will absolutely love.

How to Make Cuban Ham Salad

Making Cuban Ham salad is so easy!

Just add the cubed ham, cheese and pickles to a large mixing bowl. Toss them together to combine them.

In a smaller bowl, whisk together the mayo, mustard, pickle juice, and salt and pepper to taste until the dressing is smooth.

Then pour the dressing over the ham mixture and toss until the dressing coats everything evenly. Serve immediately or chill until serving.

If you choose to make this ahead of time and chill it, make sure you toss it again before serving so the dressing doesn’t settle to the bottom of the salad.
