Every party and barbecue has one thing in common, a good dip as the star of the show. This Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip is destined to be the hit of your next get-together. A creamy, ranch seasoned base is laced with tangy sharp cheddar and crisp, savory bits of bacon.
It’s simple, easy, and the dip to end all dips.
This dip recipe has been with our family through thick & thin.
I kid you not, it’s always been a go-to, and as of yet, twenty years in- it’s never let us down. I’m pretty sure my Mom got the original idea off the back of a packet of ranch seasoning when I was a little kid. Not 100 % sure, but pretty sure that was her secret.
We’ve taken it to back yard barbecues, to church pot lucks, and even to sports team parties.
Wherever you bring it, however you choose to serve it- you can’t possibly go wrong.
I highly recommend serving it completely chilled- straight from the refrigerator is best.
As a matter of fact, if you can’t make that work, I’d serve it in a stainless steel bowl inset in another larger bowl with a bed of ice. While it’s not bad warm, you want your family and friends to enjoy it at it’s best.
Either way though, you still can’t go wrong.
Another thing to consider is if you’re serving it indoors or out.
Indoors, it may get warmer, but it will still say cool-ish and food safe for the duration of your party. Outdoors, especially in Summer- you won’t want to risk it spoiling.
So consider that ice bed bowl trick!
This dip has been called ‘crack’ dip on many an occasion.
While I don’t love that reference, it is totally accurate in that it’s extremely addictive.
Independence Day is coming up, and I know this, as always, will be on our menu. It’s the perfect dip to make ahead of time, and have on hand for the main event.
As far as dips go, this Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip is pretty filling too.
I mean it may be creamy, and easy, but it’s also full of crisp, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar- all stirred into a savory ranch sour cream sauce.
Dip a salty chip into it, and it’s perfect.
