My family has been making this same dip recipe for as long as I can remember and it’s never let us down.

We’ve taken it to back yard barbecues, to church potlucks, and even to sports team parties.

Wherever we bring it, it’s always a hit and always one of the first things to be completely finished.

What’s not to love about a creamy ranch sour cream sauce chock full of crisp, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar?

Dip a salty chip into it, and it’s perfect.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Sour cream– A full 16 ounce tub. I recommend using full fat for the best flavor and texture.
  • Ranch seasoning powder– You can make your own or use the premade kind from a packet
  • Garlic powder
  • Bacon– Thick cut bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
  • Cheese– Shredded sharp cheddar

How to Make

This cheddar bacon ranch dip is so easy to make!

Just whisk the sour cream, ranch, and garlic powder together until evenly combined in a medium mixing bowl.

Then stir in the bacon and cheese.

Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dip for 1-2 hours before serving.

Storing Leftovers

Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Tips and Tricks

  • I highly recommend serving the dip completely chilled- straight from the refrigerator is best.
  • To keep it cool at a party or an outdoor gathering, transfer the dip to a stainless steel bowl. Put the stainless steel bowl full of dip inside a second bigger bowl full of ice to keep it cool and food safe for the duration of your party.
  • You can add some extras into the dip if you’d like. This would be so good with some chopped green onions folded in.
