Crab Rangoon Pizza

Crab rangoon pizza is a delicious way to turn the classic takeout appetizer into a dinner everyone will love. A delicious creamy seafood spread sits on a pizza crust and gets topped with cheese before being baked to bubbly perfection and garnished with chili sauce and wonton strips. The perfect update to pizza night!

Pizza night is a must in our house.

We do it weekly.

While we order out sometimes, we also love making all kinds of interesting pizza combinations you wouldn’t be able to get at a pizzeria.

This crab rangoon pizza is one of our favorite unique creations.

It combines the rich creamy crab filling you’d find in the classic Chinese takeout with a pizza crust and a layer of cheese.

The result is the best of pizza night and Chinese takeout combined!

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Pizza crust– A large store bought pizza crust. Of course you could also use any homemade pizza crust you like as long as it is between 14 and 18 inches in diameter.
  • Cream cheese– Softened to room temperature
  • Mayonnaise– Real full fat mayo is best.
  • Sour cream– Full fat will taste best.
  • Imitation crab meat– Flake style. You could also substitute the same amount of canned crab meat if you prefer.
  • Cheese– Shredded mozzarella and shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Lemon juice– Fresh is best
  • Garlic– 2 minced fresh cloves
  • Green onions– Thinly sliced and divided
  • Flavorings– Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper to taste
  • Garnish– Crispy wonton strips and sweet chili sauce

How to Make

Crab rangoon pizza is pretty easy to make!

To do it, whip the cream cheese, 1/4 cup of the shredded mozzarella, mayonnaise, sour cream, imitation crab, Parmesan, lemon juice, garlic, onions, worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper together  in a mixing bowl with a hand mixer

Put the crust on a pizza pan and spread the smooth, creamy mixture over top of the crust.

Top the crab rangoon filling with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Bake the pizza at 450° for 14-16 minutes or until the cheese is hot and bubbly and slightly golden brown in spots.

Carefully remove the hot pizza from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes while the cheese sets up.

Top with wonton strips and a drizzle of sweet chili sauce, if desired, then slice and serve!

Storing Leftovers

This is a dish that’s best the day you make it.

However if you have leftovers, wrap it tightly and store it an airtight container for up to a day or so.

Reheat in a hot oven until the cheese has melted again.

Tips and Tricks

  • Let the cream cheese soften to room temperature on the counter prior to making this.
  • You can substitute drained canned crab meat for the imitation crab if desired.
  • Top with extra sliced green onions if desired.

Ingredients

  • 1 large store bought pizza crust
  • 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese softened
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4-5 oz flake style imitation crab
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 green onions thinly sliced & divided
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste (optional)
  • 1/4 cup crispy wonton strips for garnish
  • 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the cream cheese, 1/4 cup of the shredded mozzarella, mayonnaise, sour cream, crab, Parmesan, lemon juice, garlic, onions, worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to a mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, whip them together until the mixture's smooth & creamy.
    1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, 1/3 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sour cream, 4-5 oz flake style imitation crab, 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese, 1 1/4 tsp lemon juice, 2 cloves garlic, 3 green onions, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, 1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Transfer the crust to a pizza pan then spread the cream cheese mixture evenly out overtop of it. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly out overtop.

  • Bake at 450° for 14-16 minutes, until the cheese is hot and bubbly and slightly golden brown in spots.
