Greek Seasoned Oven Fries
Greek oven fries feature potato wedges coated in a blend of Mediterranean flavors. These yummy baked Greek french fries will quickly become your favorite side dish for almost any main!
We eat a lot of potatoes in this house.
Seriously, I make them 2 to 3 times a week so I’m always on the lookout for ways to keep potatoes fresh and interesting.
These Greek oven fries are just the thing!
We’re talking potato wedges tossed in a blend of lemon juice, olive oil, and spices.
They pair so well with Greek Chicken Kabobs and our other favorites.
Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Potatoes– Medium, unpeeled baking potatoes. You can peel them if you wish but the peel adds texture and extra nutrients.
- Lemon juice– Fresh or bottled
- Olive oil– Don’t substitute another oil because you want the flavor of the olive oil.
- Spices– Oregano, pepper, salt
- Garlic– Minced
- Cooking spray– The oil kind not the butter kind
How to Make
These Greek seasoned fries are so easy!
Just, cut each potato lengthwise into 8 wedges.
Then, whisk together lemon juice, olive oil, oregano, pepper, salt, and garlic in a large bowl.
Add potatoes to the mixture and toss well to coat.
Place the potatoes, skin side down, on a baking sheet that has been coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender and lightly browned.
Serve and enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Reheat them in a hot oven until warmed through.
What to Serve with Greek Oven Fries
These Greek style fries pair well with any of your favorite Mediterranean mains.
Our favorites to serve with it include:
- Homemade Gyros
- Easy Gyro Salad
- Grilled Herb Lemon Salmon Kebabs
- Healthy Slow Cooker Greek Chicken Breasts
- Grilled Tandoori Chicken Burgers
We also love dunking them in Greek Tzatziki Sauce.
Tips and Tricks
- While you can make these without the skins, I highly recommend leaving the potato wedges unpeeled. The skins help the potatoes get the right texture.
- You can use fresh herbs if you prefer.
- Make sure to spray the tray to keep the fries from sticking.
- For an extra delicious finish, sprinkle some Feta cheese crumbles evenly out over the baked potatoes before serving.
