Seafood gets an undeserved bad rap as being fussy and hard to make.

But it’s not!

This dijon mustard salmon is so easy to make.

It only uses a handful of ingredients that you may have on hand already.

And the result is an elegant dish that is just as delicious as any salmon on the menu at any restaurant.

Ingredients

To make this dijon mustard salmon you need:

  • Salmon– Salmon filets. I highly recommend using fresh salmon and not frozen for a fresh flavor. If you do use frozen, thaw the filets before you make this.
  • Mustard– Dijon mustard
  • Lemon juice– Fresh lemon juice
  • Seasoning– Parsley, minced garlic, salt and pepper
  • Vegetable oil– You could sub olive oil if you prefer.

How to Make

With so few ingredients, you can bet that making this is so easy!

To do it, preheat the oven to 375 and line a baking pan with parchment paper.

Then you can put your salmon fillets on the pan, skin side down.

Whisk the mustard, oil, lemon juice, garlic, parsley, and salt and pepper together in a small bowl.

Pour the mustard sauce over the salmon, using a spatula to scrape the bowl out so you get every last drop.

Spread it out evenly over the top of the fish.

Then bake the salmon for 20 minutes and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Reheat in a hot oven until warmed through.

What to Serve with Dijon Mustard Salmon

There are so many possible pairings for this!

We love it with this:

You could even serve it over a big salad or you can totally keep things simple and just serve it as is with a side of plain wild rice.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you’re using frozen salmon filets, make sure they’re completely thawed before proceeding with the recipe as written.
  • Similarly, you can use skin on or skin off salmon. That’s totally up to personal preference.
  • If you can’t find skinless salmon at the grocer and don’t want the skin on, take the filet to the seafood counter. Most of the time, they will remove the skin for you.
  • For best results I recommend using a garlic press for the garlic cloves, instead of trying to finely mince them with a knife.
