It’s always good to have options other than eggnog, no matter how delicious eggnog is.
What is a margarita anyway?
Margaritas are popular drinks that Jimmy Buffet loves to sing about.
The cocktail normally includes tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Most of the time, you’d serve them in the summer.
My white Christmas cranberry margaritas give the classic cocktail a winter update with some white cranberry juice and a beautiful garnish of fresh cranberry and pine-y rosemary.
Do I need anything special to make a margarita?
Nope! While this recipe calls for the margaritas to be shaken in a shaker, if you don’t have one you can stir everything together.
Either way just combine your white cranberry juice, lime juice, and liquor with some ice and give it a good shake or stir. Then pour it into a glass you’ve rimmed with salt and garnish it with cranberries and rosemary.
That’s it! They’re seriously easy, making them perfect for busy hosts who still want a cocktail on the menu that will impress guests.
Variations on a White Christmas Cranberry Margarita
While this recipe is written to be a white Christmas cranberry margarita, based on the Bing Crosby classic, you could substitute regular red cranberry juice as well.
Then just call them Christmas cranberry margaritas and no one will ever know!
Also, if you want to add some extra sweetness to your margarita, instead of serving them in salt rimmed glasses, you could rim the glasses in a sugar salt combo. Looking for a lot of extra sweetness? That’s fine too. Skip the salt and rim your glass entirely in sugar.
Want to be even more festive? Color the sugar with green or red food coloring turning it into edible glitter before rimming your glasses!

For an extra special touch, you’ll want to garnish the individual glasses the cranberry margarita(s) is served in. They can be served as is over ice, but the presentation really sets them apart and gives them a festive feel.
Rim each glass with salt as you normally would, garnish with a freshly cut lime wedge, and then serve a small skewer of sugared cranberries on top of the glass or on the side instead of with the more plain sprig of rosemary.
Sweet & salty is always a winning combination, especially when a little tang from tequila and tart cranberry juice is included in the mix!
