Sriracha Honey Butter 2

I love that moment in the grocery store, when I’ve asked the hubs to come with me, and then somehow that translates into the need (and perceived want) for him to comment on everything I’m putting in the cart.

Yes, I want that. No, you don’t have to eat it if you don’t like it. If you’d like the organic version, get your own cart and fork over the cash.

Because Honey, I just wanted to spend some time with you, and with all our kids the grocery store on an average Friday night is about as fancy as it gets.

I should have taken a picture (the look of disdain would’ve kept longer) the first time he saw me put sriracha sauce in the basket. I’m telling you, if pictures could talk that one would have been worth a million bucks!!

Oh, the commentary. Nobody would like it, what a waste of money, but I could get this but there wasn’t wiggle room for the extra candies, a tub of ice cream, or snack cakes.

Sometimes having a husband is a bit like having an extra child, a freakishly big man child with a very colorful vocabulary who never outgrew his sweet tooth. In his book, sugar should trump sauce every time.

Luckily for me, I’m the master of the potholders and the cooker of all things, so we go by the rules in my cookbook.

Just an fyi, a few years later and the husband puts this same Sriracha sauce on everything. Eggs, noodles, steak- I’ve even seen him put it on salad.

He loves it soo much, I even got him a little mini sriracha 2 go bottle on a key chain to take to work for his breakfast and lunch– because now he can’t live without it.

I’ve even perfected the art of not actually saying I told you so. Seriously. A well-timed, extra raised eyebrow can speak volumes.

Sriracha Honey Butter

This smooth and creamy compound butter this Sriracha honey butter is perfect for the Sriracha lover in your life and the unfamiliar alike. If, like me, you have an affinity for the perfect blend of heat and sweet, this has your name written all over it.

Spread it on your favorite meats, like a juicy steak or grilled chicken or even wings. Let a generous dollop melt over some seafood, like fresh lobster or some flaky salmon.

Just slather it on some toast and dig into breakfast– like actually dig in. Scoop up a nice bit of scrambled egg onto said toast and shovel It on in.

  1. You were right all along, who would have guessed?! The funny thing is I can’t take my hubby to the grocery store for the exact opposite reason. He doesn’t question what I am getting, but somehow the grocery bill always doubles when he is with me. Stuff he never knew he needed somehow magically appears in the cart! We just got a shared grocery list ap so he can help alert me when his lunch staples are low and now he occasionally takes it upon himself to pick up the things on the list while he is out. It makes me VERY nervous letting him venture into the store on his own!

    1. Yeah, I’d be sweating bullets because I know my husband and he would come home with all kinds of snacks and candy. I’ve had to set a firm limit of two splurge purchases for him per grocery trip, lol. But it works!

  2. This is so perfect for a Srircaha lover like me. I have never heard of Sriracha butter, so I am glad that you introduced it to me. Thank you for sharing! 🙂

    1. Am I the only one that noticed the garlic is in the ingredients list but not the recipe? I can’t tell if the garlic is accidentally left out of the recipe or accidentally added to the ingredient list…

      1. I try to have my life together, but sometimes things get lost- the garlic gets blended in with everything else and is supposed to be in the recipe. Thank you for finding my error so I could correct the recipe card!

  3. So funny about shopping with your husband! My experiences are very similar!! This butter looks super awesome and I can’t wait to give it try. I love making my own butters, so I will have to give this one a go! Happy Fiesta Friday to you! 😀
