Sririacha Honey Butter

Sriracha honey butter is an easy flavored butter that perfectly blends the sweetness of honey with the heat of Sriracha chili sauce. This creamy compound butter is the perfect compliment to grilled meats, seafood, or your morning slice of toast. Use it to infuse a bit of sweet heat into your favorite recipes!

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter softened to room temperature
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 5-7 tsp Sriracha chili sauce more or less, to taste
  • 5-6 cloves garlic minced
  • scant 1/8 - 1/4 tsp salt or to taste

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together the softened butter, honey, sriracha, garlic, and salt until it's whipped and the ingredients evenly incorporated.
    2 sticks butter, 2 tbsp honey, 5-7 tsp Sriracha chili sauce, 5-6 cloves garlic, scant 1/8 - 1/4 tsp salt
  • Tear off a large sheet of plastic wrap and spread it out on a clean work surface or countertop. Transfer the butter onto it, and gently overlay the plastic wrap and roll it up to shape the butter into a cylinder.
  • Twist both ends like you would a candy, and tuck any excess over/under when you put it in the refrigerator.
  • After an hour, or when the butter has solidified, it's ready to be sliced/used/enjoyed.

Notes

  • Don't forget to soften the butter to room temperature before trying to use it in the recipe. Soften butter is a must so that it whips up to a fluffy consistency and evenly incorporates the flavor enhancing ingredients.
  • If you forget to soften the butter beforehand, do not try to melt it. Melted butter WILL NOT work.
  • Only have salted butter? That's ok, but skip adding the additional salt called for in the recipe.
  • I recommend making this with a mixer, either in the bowl of a stand mixer or by using a sturdy mixing bowl and an electric hand mixer for the most uniform (and best tasting!) results.
