Potato Chip Chicken Tenders (Air Fryer Recipe)
Air fryer potato chip chicken tenders are a fun, crunchy twist on classic chicken tenders. These chicken tenders get air fried until they are perfectly cooked and crispy, making an easy family-friendly dinner with little effort.

I’ve never met a kid that doesn’t love potato chips.
But I have met plenty of kids that aren’t big dinner eaters.
So I’m always looking for ways to to make dinners that kids will actually eat..
These air fryer potato chip chicken tenders do exactly that by taking everyone’s favorite snack and turning it into dinner.

The crushed potato chip coating creates an extra crispy crust that’s loaded with salty, savory flavor.
And the chicken? Perfectly tender and juicy on the inside.
Since the air fryer does most of the work, they’re also quicker and less messy than traditional fried chicken tenders.

Ingredients
To make these you’ll need:
- Chicken– Chicken tenders trimmed of any extra fat.
- Eggs– To help the potato chips sticks.
- Flour– All purpose.
- Mayonnaise– For a rich base for the coating.
- Seasonings– Garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
- Potato chips– A 13 ounce bag of plain kettle cooked potato chips crushed in the bag.
How to Make
These air fryer potato chip chicken tenders are pretty easy to make!
To do it whisk the eggs, flour, mayo, and seasonings together in a shallow bowl.
Set that bowl aside.
Add the potato chip crumbs to a separate shallow bowl.

Then work with one chicken tender at a time and dip it in the egg mixture, coating it on all sides.
Let the excess drip back into the bowl.
Then dunk that chicken tender into the potato chip mixture, pressing the mixture in as needed to evenly coat it in the chips.
Put the coated tender on a waiting plate and repeat this until all the strips are coated in potato chips.
Add 5-6 prepared tenders to the nonstick-sprayed basket of your air fryer without overcrowding the basket.

Lightly spritz the top of the tenders with spray.
Air fry the chicken tenders at 400° for 10-11 minutes or until they’re cooked through, crispy, and golden brown.
Repeat until all are done.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat them in the air fryer at 350 until warmed through or in a hot oven until warmed through.
I don’t recommend reheating these in the microwave as they won’t crisp back up.

Tips and Tricks
- While spraying the coated chicken tenders with cooking spray is optional, I highly recommend it to help the tenders get crispy.
- Make sure to let the excess egg and mayo mixture drip off before you coat them in the potato chips.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket so the chicken cooks properly.
