There are a few things most Southerners love to see on the table.

Cornbread, grits, mac and cheese, and of course biscuits.

Some biscuits are hard to make and need you to use biscuit cutters and go through cutting in the butter.

These Southern mayonnaise biscuits are not hard to make at all!

With only 3 ingredients, you can make these tender biscuits anytime at all to treat yourself and your family to a real classic comfort food.

What are mayonnaise biscuits?

They are a variation on drop biscuits with mayonnaise instead of butter to give them a tender flakiness.

Ingredients

To make these you only need 3 ingredients:

  • Flour– It’s very important to use self rising flour with this. If you don’t have any, you can make your own.
  • Milk– Use whole milk and do not substitute for lower fat milk since the biscuits need fat.
  • Mayonnaise– Real, full fat mayonnaise

How to Make Biscuits with Mayonnaise

These are quite possibly the easiest biscuits you will ever make!

Just, stir the flour, milk, and mayonnaise together in a mixing bowl until evenly combined.

Fill each well of a muffin tin you have liberally sprayed nonstick cooking spray halfway full with biscuit batter.

Bake at 400° for 20 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.

Serve warm and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Freeze any extras in a freezer bag.

Thaw them in the microwave on defrost or in the fridge overnight before serving them and just pop them in a hot oven to warm them up.

Biscuits will keep for 3 to 4 months in the freezer.

How to Make Self Rising Flour

Not everyone keeps self rising flour in their fridge but no worries since self rising flour is so easy to make!

For every 2 cups of all-purpose flour, add 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of fine salt.

Whisk the ingredients together and then measure them out for the recipe.
