How to Make

Making these pumpkin pie truffles is beginner friendly!

To do it, scoop the whole pie to a large mixing bowl, getting rid of the pie tin.

Using a potato masher, roughly crush and break up the pies.

If you’re using pecans, fold them in now.

Using a medium sized cookie scoop, transfer scoops of the pumpkin pie mixture to a parchment paper lined baking sheet until you’ve used all the mixture up.

Put the baking sheet in a freezer, laying it flat, and let the balls freeze for 30-45 minutes.

Then, melt the chocolate according to the package instructions.

When the chocolate is ready, take the truffles out of the freezer.

Add one to the melted chocolate, turning it to coat the truffle evenly.

Then use a fork to remove the chocolate coated truffle and let any excess chocolate drip off.

Transfer the truffle to a clean sheet of parchment paper.

Sprinkle the truffle with garnish, and then continue until all the truffles have been coated and garnished.

Let the chocolate set completely.

Serve and enjoy!

How do I store pumpkin pie truffles?

It depends on the pie.

If the pie you bought in the store was not refrigerated, you can store your truffles in layers separated by parchment paper in an airtight container until the date on the package.

But if the pie was refrigerated, store them in an airtight container as described above but in the fridge.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you’re having trouble keeping your melted chocolate soft and smooth while working with the truffles, you can next the bowl of chocolate in a bowl of hot water.
  • Sprinkle your garnish immediately on each chocolate coated truffle as soon as you transfer it to the parchment paper. The chocolate begins to harden quickly and the window for getting the garnish to stick is small.
  • Can’t find melting chocolate? Use chocolate chips with a tablespoon of coconut oil stirred into it after you melt it.
