Peach White Wine Slushies
Frozen peach white wine slushies are the perfect cold cocktail for an afternoon soaking in the sunshine. Your favorite fruity wine and juicy frozen peaches are a match made in slushie heaven and perfect for any summertime occasion.
There’s nothing better than the giggles, hoots, and hollers of my kids on a sunny, summer day when the yard fills with friends and neighbors.
While the kids play, the parents like to kick back and soak up all the happy sights and sounds while enjoying a yummy, frozen drink.
Why just have a glass of wine when we can have an extra fruity, cold slushie cocktail?
These peach white wine slushies are sweet, refreshing, and almost dessert-like.
Simply blending the frozen fruit into the chilled wine turns a simple glass of vino into a delicious, irresistible adult drink that reminds me of a slightly naughty soft sorbet.
Ingredients
To make this frozen cocktail you only need:
- White wine– Make sure it’s chilled and use a fruity variety like Moscato.
- Peaches– No need to use fresh peaches unless you want to use some peach slices as garnish. Frozen peaches will give this the perfect consistency.
How to Make
To make these, add the wine and frozen peaches in the blender and blend until the mixture is smooth.
If the mixture is too liquidy and thin, freeze it and stir every 30 minutes until a perfect slushy texture forms, or you can add a few more frozen peaches for a quick fix.
Serve and enjoy!
How many servings does this make?
This batch serves two, but is easily doubled using the whole bottle of wine and additional fruit to serve four!
Storing Leftovers
I would only make what you plan on drinking.
While you can techinically freeze these, I’ve found that since wine has a relatively low alcohol percentage especially when combined with the frozen fruit- these tend to freeze a little too well. Often turning into a big block of ice.
And even if left to soften some or broken up, it just doesn’t taste the same. It will end up watery.
What Kind Of White Wine Is Best For Slushies?
I realize white wine is pretty generic considering all the different types out there.
The best kind will ultimately come down to your personal preferences, so you can’t go wrong with a white wine you enjoy. Plus, you can always experiment with different varieties!
I prefer using pinot grigio, and will use a sauvignon blanc in a pinch. I’m not a huge fan of overly sweet drinks, and both of those tend to be on the dryer side without a lot of ‘sweet’.
If you enjoy sweeter, fruitier wines then I’d suggest using a Riesling or even Moscato for this adult slushie.
How Can I Sweeten My Wine Slushies?
If you find the slushies still aren’t sweet enough, that’s easy to fix. Simply add a pinch of two of finely ground sugar to the mix. Taste and adjust as necessary.
If you want the slushies a tad sweeter, and also a bit on the thinner side- then use a simple peach syrup as your extra sweetener. Again, add a little before tasting and adjusting as needed.
Tips and Tricks
- If you like a thinner or thicker slushie you can add more or less peaches.
- You can use storebought frozen peaches, or fresh peaches that you’ve peeled, pitted, sliced & frozen yourselves.
- Not a fan of peach? Substitute any frozen fruit you like- raspberries and strawberries are both great options!
- For an extra strong drink, add a shot of vodka or peach schnapps to the blender.
Can This Be Made Without Alcohol?
If you want to enjoy this treat with the kids, or if you’re catering to a crowd that can’t have alcohol, substitute a good white grape juice for the wine for a yummy Shirley Temple version.
