Homemade Nestle Quik (Nesquik) is an easy copycat recipe of the classic chocolate milk mix. This nostalgic treat stirs into milk for a rich, chocolatey drink in seconds.

Growing up, there was almost always a canister of chocolate milk mix tucked away in the pantry.

It was there whenever I had a bad day or for that matter an extra special good day.

It was a treat guaranteed to lift my mood.

While I don’t have a canister of Nesquick in my pantry anymore, every now and then I crave a good glass of my favorite childhood chocolate milk.

This homemade Nestle Quik has same nostalgic flavor and is made with simple pantry ingredients you probably already have on hand.

The mix blends into milk to create a smooth, creamy drink with just the right balance of rich chocolate and sweetness.

I love making a batch of homemade Nesquik to have in the house whenever someone wants a quick after-school snack, a sweet bedtime treat, or a fun addition to breakfast.

And unlike the storebought version, you can customize it by using your favorite cocoa powder or adjusting the sweetness to suit your family’s tastes.

Tips and Tricks

  • For the best results, blend the mixture together in a food processor fitted with the blade attachment or in a high powered blender until it’s evenly combined. This helps the mix to dissolve into the milk better.
  • This cocoa mix will blend best into milk that’s NOT ice cold. If you are using cold milk then I recommend mixing it with a milk frother for the smoothest results.
  • This mix makes an excellent hot chocolate base. Follow the same 2 tablespoon to 1 cup of milk ratio and whisk the milk and homemade Nesquik together in a saucepan over medium low heat until the milk is warm. Top it with marshmallows or whipped cream.
