- Yellow onion– Peeled and grated.
- Garlic– Minced.
- Spices– Dried oregano, dried rosemary, dried thyme, black pepper, ground coriander, ground cumin, and salt.
- Feta cheese– Crumbled. For topping.

How to Make
Gyro burgers are very easy to make.
Just crumble and break the meat apart in a large mixing bowl with clean hands.
Then mix all the other burger ingredients into the meat with your hands until everything is as evenly combined as possible.
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal sized balls.

Flatten the balls into round patties that are a bit wider than the width of the buns.
Heat a large skillet, or griddle pan, over medium heat.
When the pan is hot, add the patties to it and cook them for 3-4 minutes per side until they’re cooked through.
Remove the skillet from heat and top the burgers evenly with the crumbled feta.
Put the lid on the skillet and let the burgers rest for 2 minutes to give the residual heat a chance to melt the feta.

Then assemble the gyro burgers by adding lettuce to the bottom buns.
Top the lettuce with a burger and top each burger with onions, tomatoes, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
Close the burgers with the top bun.
Serve and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Store the leftover burger patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Keep any unused toppings in their own airtight containers in the fridge.
Reheat the burgers on the stovetop or in a hot oven until warmed through before building a fresh sandwich.

Tips and Tricks
- If lamb isn’t your favorite, substitute lean ground beef.
- Be careful not to overwork the burger meat. If you over mix, the burgers will get tough. Mix everything until just combined.
- Work in batches when you are cooking the burgers if you have to prevent overcrowding the pan. Just cover the burgers you made first to keep them warm while you make the second batch.
