Garlic Butter Steak Bites (Air Fryer Recipe)
Garlic butter steak bites is a delicious and easy air fryer recipe. Sirloin strips get coated in a bold blend of brown sugar and spices before being air fried to perfection and slathered in garlic butter.
We are a meat and potatoes kind of family.
Because my boys want that combo so often, I try to find all the ways to add different flavors to our meals and keep them interesting.
And these garlic butter steak bites do not disappoint!
The steak itself has a sweet savory blend of spices on it and then you add the garlic butter.
And it’s a new level of flavor!
So good!
Plus you can make 4 servings of this right in your air fryer, making prep a breeze!
Ingredients
Let’s break this down into two sets of ingredients- one for the steak and one for the garlic butter.
For the steak itself you’ll need:
- Sirloin steak– Trimmed of fat and cut into half inch or so pieces.
- Olive oil– To make a base for the rub.
- Seasonings– Brown sugar, chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder
And for the garlic butter you’ll need:
- Butter– I recommend using unsalted since the steak itself will be salted. Melt it.
- Spices– Garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes, and parsley flakes
How to Make
These garlic butter steak bites in the air fryer are so easy to make!
Just, add the trimmed pieces of steak to a mixing bowl.
Toss the steak pieces with olive oil so they get evenly coated.
Then whisk together the steak seasonings in a small bowl.
Sprinkle the seasonings evenly over the steak pieces, gently tossing them until evenly combined.
Preheat your air fryer to 400° for 5 minutes then transfer the seasoned steak bites into the hot basket in a single layer.
Air fry the steak for 5-6 minutes, just until the steak reaches your desired level of done-ness.
Mix together the garlic butter ingredients then toss it with the cooked steak bites.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Serving Suggestions
Garlic butter steak bites are delicious with almost any sides you can think of!
They pair well with baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, or rice and a side of your favorite veggie.
You could even serve them over a salad or in a steak sandwich.
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat them on the stove or in the microwave until warm.
Stove Top Instructions
Don’t have an air fryer?
Make them in a skillet on the stove top instead!
To make them on the stove top, prepare the steak as instructed.
Then add the oil to a hot cast iron skillet over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the meat and cook for 2 minutes without stirring.
Then stir and finish cooking to desired doneness (about 5 minutes total).
Enjoy!
Tips and Tricks
- This recipe can be doubled or tripled, but you will need to cook in batches to avoid over crowding the basket and affecting the results. Air fryers rely on the hot air being able to circulate freely around the food to cook properly.
- The air fryer should be preheated to the point where you hear should hear an audible sizzle when you put in the steak pieces. This is key to getting that seared taste and texture.
- Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your taste.
