I’m always looking for affordable and easy ways to incorporate more fish into our family’s meals.

Especially fish like salmon which is packed full of good for you things like omega 3s.

But fresh fish for a large family gets very expensive very quickly.

VERY QUICKLY.

So instead, I look to buy canned fish whenever possible.

Same benefits for so much less cost.

And canned salmon makes delicious salmon patties or salmon cakes.

Plus air frying the salmon patties means they are done and perfectly crisp in a snap!

How to Make

Making air fryer salmon patties is pretty quick and easy!

To do it, flake the drained salmon apart into small flakes with a fork in a mixing bowl.

Then stir in the bread crumbs, eggs, and seasoning into the salmon until the mixture is well combined.

Divide the mixture into 6 equal balls and shape into patties.

Then liberally spray the basket of your air fryer with non stick cooking spray.

Add 3 to 4 patties to the basket of your air fryer, being careful not to overcrowd the basket.

Spray the tops of the patties with non stick cooking spray.

Air fry the salmon patties at 360° for 6 minutes.

Then, carefully flip the patties.

Spritz the tops again with cooking spray and then air fry for an additional 5 minutes.

Squeeze lemon juice over the patties.

Serve as sandwiches and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Reheat the leftover patties in the air fryer until warmed through.

How do I keep salmon patties from falling apart?

These patties will stay together nicely because the eggs and bread crumbs act as a binder.

Spraying the basket and the tops of the patties also help prevent the salmon cakes from sticking to the air fryer, which could cause them to fall apart as you flip the patties.

  • In addition to serving as sandwiches these patties can also be served over rice or vegetables or by themselves with a variety of dipping sauces.
  • You can change or adjust the seasonings to fit your preferences.
