Bacon is a hard thing to ruin, but it’s also a harder thing to perfect when learning to cook.

Cooking it on the stove requires constant supervision and a decent amount of clean up especially if the bacon grease splatters.

Microwave bacon comes out sort of soggy and sad.

But baked bacon in the oven?

It’s hands down the easiest way to cook bacon and have it come out consistently perfect.

This easy baked bacon comes out crisp and ready to crumble every time, with hardly any effort and easy clean up guaranteed.

It’s a method that makes the best breakfast food even better and lets you easily make enough of it to feed a hungry crowd.

To make this you’ll need:

slices of uncooked bacon in a white plate

  • Bacon– You can’t make bacon without bacon obviously! Use your favorite brand.

You’ll also want parchment paper and a baking sheet.

How to Make

This is the easiest way ever to make this breakfast favorite!

To do it, start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees.

Then, place a sheet of parchment paper on a sheet pan.

Lay the bacon on top of the parchment paper, without the strips of bacon touching each other if possible.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bacon is really crispy.

Once the bacon is cooked through and crisp, use a pair of tongs to remove the bacon from the tray.

How to Store Leftovers

Does anyone ever have any leftover bacon?

Seriously though if you do have any bacon that you and your family hasn’t devoured, let it cool and then put it in a ziplocking bag in the fridge.

It should last for up to 5 days.

What is the best temperature to cook bacon?

Some people swear by cooking bacon at 350, but I don’t think it gets as crispy at 350 as it does when you cook it at 400 so that is always my recommendation.

Should you flip bacon in the oven?

Nope! There’s no need to do any flipping when you cook bacon in the oven.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t let the bacon overlap on the tray and use a second tray if needed. If the bacon overlaps, it won’t be as crispy and crunchy.
  • Draining the bacon on paper towels helps it stay good and crispy.
  • It’s as easy to make 20 strips of bacon as it is 8, assuming you have enough room in your oven for more than one sheet pan.

  1. This is how I normally cook my bacon; however, 15 to 20 minutes never gets it cooked for me. Not only is it not crisp, it isn’t even ready to eat. I never understand how people can only cook it for that short of time.
