What is a Crunchwrap Supreme?

A Crunchwrap Supreme is a Taco Bell classic!

It features your choice of protein, layered onto a crunchy tostado, topped with nacho cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream before being folded into a tortilla and lightly griddled to make the tortilla crispy.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Ground beef– Go with leaner ground beef so it’s not too greasy.
  • Seasonings– Chili powder, cumin, oregano, and salt
  • Tortillas– Large flour tortillas and mini flour tortillas
  • Queso– Your favorite jarred kind.
  • Tostados– Buy these next to the taco shells in the grocery store.
  • Toppings– Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded texmex or cheddar cheese

How to Make

Making Crunchwrap Supremes at home is so easy!

Just brown the beef in a large pan over medium heat.

Once it’s brown, drain off the extra fat.

Return the pan to the heat and stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, and salt.

Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Divide the mixture between 4 large tortillas.

Then top each pile of beef with queso.

Put a tostada on top of the queso followed by the cheese and then the lettuce and tomato.

Then place a mini tortilla on top of each so it sits in the center.

Fold the edges of each large tortilla up and around the mini tortilla to seal it.

Then cook each tortilla with the folded side down for 2-3 minutes in a lightly greased skillet.

Flip and cook an additional 2-3 minutes or until golden brown on both sides.

Serve with salsa and sour cream if desired.

Storing Leftovers

I don’t recommend assembling more Crunchwraps than you intend to eat at a time.

They will get sad and soggy in the fridge.

However, you can store any leftover ground beef in an airtight container for up to 3 days and use it to assemble more Crunchwraps later.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t skip draining the beef! Otherwise the Crunchwraps will be a bit of a greasy mess.
  • Omit any toppings you don’t like.
  • Adjust the seasoning to suit your tastes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 large tortillas
  • 1/2 cup queso
  • 4 tostadas
  • 2 cups shredded tex mex cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomato
  • 4 mini flour tortillas

Instructions

  • In a large pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef, drain and stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, and salt and cook an additional 1-2 minutes

  • Divide the mixture between 4 large tortillas then divide the queso on top of each pile of beef

  • Add the lettuce and tomato to each tortilla, then place a mini tortilla on top of each
