I’m always on the hunt for easy grab and go breakfasts.

And unfortunately because I’m not the best at mornings, I find myself in the drive through ordering an extra large coffee and breakfast.

One of my favorite drive through breakfasts is Dunkin Donuts Omelet Bites.

They are protein packed egg bites filled with bacon and cheese or cheese and veggies that keep me full all morning long.

Well, to try to break the habit, I have created this Dunkin Donuts Omelet Bites copycat recipe.

It tastes just like the Dunkin version but better!

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Eggs
  • Cottage cheese
  • Cheese– Shredded Monterey jack cheese and shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper– To taste
  • Bacon bits– Real bacon bits. You could also use crisply cooked bacon that you’ve crumbled.

How to Make

This copycat Dunkin Donut Omelet Bites recipes is so easy to make!

Add the eggs, cottage cheese, monterey jack cheese, salt, and pepper to a blender and blend it all together until it’s nice and smooth.

Then add the cheddar and bacon to the blender and just pulse the blender so the cheese and bacon gets combined but not pureed.

Spray a standard donut tin with nonstick cooking spray.

Spoon the mixture into the wells until even with the center donut prong.

Bake at 350° for 10 -12 minutes until set.

Transfer the omelet bites to a plate and serve warm.

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Reheat them in the microwave or in a hot oven until warmed through.

Can I freeze these?

Yes!

You can freeze baked Omelet Bites.

Just bake them and let them cool before transferring the Omelet Bites to a ziplocking freezer bag.

Freeze the egg bites for up to 3 months, microwaving until warmed through.

Tips and Tricks

  • Worried your egg bites aren’t done? You’ll now they’re done when the egg springs bac when touched. I recommend using a spoon to test since they’ll be hot.
  • If you don’t have a donut pan, you can use a muffin tin instead.
  • Swiss cheese makes a delicious substitute for the Monterey jack.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 tbsp real bacon bits

Instructions

  • Add the eggs, cottage cheese, monterey jack cheese, salt, and pepper to a blender. Blend until smooth & creamy.
    4 large eggs, 4 tbsp cottage cheese, 1/4 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese, salt & pepper
  • Add the cheddar and bacon to the blender and pulse just until combined, but not pureed.
    1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1 1/2 tbsp real bacon bits
  • Spray a standard donut tin with nonstick cooking spray. Spoon the mixture into the wells until even with the center donut prong.
  • Bake at 350° for 10 -12 minutes until set.
  • Transfer the omelet bites to a plate and serve warm.

  1. These sound perfect! But being the bread-head that I am, I’ll put them onto toasted bagels since they’ll fit perfectly! I have a ceramic bagel baker, but haven’t used it in years, and it only makes 1 at a time. I never thought to make ‘omelets’ in my donut pans! Thank you for the idea.
