Ingredients
To make this you’ll need a set of ingredients for the cheese filling, one for the cream sauce, and a final set for the lasagna itself.

For the cheese filling you’ll need:
- Shredded cheese– Shredded mozzarella but you have options. For a more traditional chicken cordon bleu flavor you could use shredded Swiss. You could also use part Swiss and part mozzarella or even Italian blend.
- Ricotta– 15 ounces. Any fat content will work.
- Eggs
- Spices– Garlic powder, black pepper, salt
For the cream sauce you’ll need:
- Butter– Unsalted is preferable
- Flour– All purpose
- Chicken broth– You could also use chicken stock
- Heavy cream-This is a must. Do not substitute lower fat dairy.
- Cream cheese– Full fat.
And for the lasagna itself you’ll need:
- Lasagna noodles– Cooked according to the package directions.
- Chopped chicken– Rotisserie works perfectly in this.
- Ham– Cubed. Ham steak, leftover ham, or even deli ham would work.
- Bacon– Chopped
- Cheese– Mozzarella
- Parsley– Optional for garnish
How to Make
This chicken cordon bleu lasagna is easy to make if you take it step by step.

Start by mixing together the mozzarella, ricotta, eggs, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a bowl to make the filling.
Set the filling aside until you need it.
In a medium pot over medium heat, melt the butter.

Once the butter is melted, whisk in the flour and cook the mixture for one minute.
Whisk in the chicken broth stirring constantly.
When the chicken broth is all incorporated, whisk in the heavy cream.

Bring the mixture to a light simmer and cook it until it thickens, stirring frequently.
Stir in the cream cheese, whisking until the sauce is smooth.
Set the sauce aside.

Spread a thin layer of sauce over the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish you’ve sprayed with nonstick spray.
Add a layer of noodles on top of the sauce.

Spread out half the ricotta mixture on top of the noodles followed by half the ham, chicken and bacon.
Top the meat layer with ⅓ of the sauce evenly over top.
Repeat the layers.

To finish the lasagna add one more layer of noodles, followed by the remaining sauce.
Sprinkle with the mozzarella and extra bacon.
Cover the dish with foil and bake in a 400 oven for 35-40 minutes.

Remove the cover, then bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until the top is lightly golden and bubbly.
Take the lasagna out of the oven and let it sit for 15 minutes before slicing.
Serve and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers tightly wrapped in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat individual portions in the microwave until warmed through or put the remaining lasagna in a hot oven until the lasagna is warm and cheese is melted.

Tips and Tricks
- When it doubt, whisk the sauce while making it. Constant whisking will keep the sauce from getting lumpy.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce.
- Make sure you don’t skip the resting time. The lasagna needs that time to firm up before you slice it.
