Chick Fil A saved me many a day when my boys were younger and the days seemed endless.

It’s strange how when you have a toddler or two suddenly every hour feels like it lasts a month and that you’ve lived at least a full lifetime before bedtime rolls around.

In those weird hazy days, I would pack us up and take us for Chick Fil A either because I was too tired to even think about getting dinner on the table or I just plain old needed a break.

One of my favorite things to order?

A Chicken Cool Wrap.

It always felt lighter than a deep fried chicken sandwich and waffle fries but was still so big on taste.

And I am happy to have a version of the Chick Fil A menu item that I can make at home.

What is a Chicken Cool Wrap?

A Chicken Cool Wrap is a Chick Fil A menu item that features grilled chicken, green leaf lettuce, shredded cheese and avocado lime dressing tucked into a flax seed flat bread.

It’s generally a lighter, more refreshing tasting option than some of their other sandwiches.

Ingredients

To make these you’ll need:

  • Chicken– Grilled boneless, skinless chicken breasts that you’ve let cool. You could also use shredded rotisserie chicken breast to save yourself the trouble of grilling the chicken.
  • Lettuce– Large green leaf lettuce leaves
  • Tortillas– Whole wheat tortillas are most authentic
  • Cheese– Shredded cheddar jack or shredded colby jack
  • Avocado lime dressing – Try our really yummy copycat version of it.

How to Make

These Chicken Cool Wraps are very easy to make!

Just grill the chicken to your liking and let it cool.

Once the grilled chicken’s cooled, chop or shred it before setting it aside.

Microwave the tortillas for 10-15 seconds to make them soft and pliable.

Top each tortilla with a lettuce leaf, 1/4 cup of cheese, then 1/4 of the chicken.

Roll the tortilla up and fold the ends in like a burrito.

Slice the wraps in half and serve with avocado lime dressing for dipping.

Enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Store the leftover wraps in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

If you have leftover dressing, make sure to store that in a separate airtight container.

Can these Chicken Wraps be Made Ahead of Time?

Yes!

You can make these Chicken Cool Wraps up to three days ahead of time.

Just store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until you are ready to enjoy.

And if you plan to make these ahead of time, make sure to layer the lettuce leaves against the tortilla as directed to act as a barrier between the filling and the tortilla.

This keeps the tortilla from getting soggy.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t skip microwaving the tortillas. This simple step will make them soft and pliable which will prevent them from breaking when stuffed and rolled.
  • Since you are making these at home, you could add other toppings like thinly sliced tomatoes or onions to the tortillas. Just make sure the lettuce is the layer touching the tortilla.
  • This recipe easily doubles or triples to serve a crowd.
