While most of the time we have no problem going through a Costco sized bundle of bananas before they turn spotty, every now and then we don’t.

And while I can use the overripe ones to bake or freeze them for later, sometimes I don’t need the extra bananas for that either.

So instead of letting them go to waste because no one will touch them once they start to spot, we turn them into homemade banana chips.

Tips and Tricks

  • The bananas will crisp up as they cool after you bake them.
  • The exact amounts of water and lemon juice will depend on how many bananas you are using. If you are using more than 3 or 4, you may need to use an extra teaspoon or so of lemon juice and more water.
  • Don’t worry if the lemon juice and water aren’t exact!
  • You can adjust the seasoning to your liking and even skip the cinnamon if that’s not your thing.
  • These are delicious on their own, as a yogurt topping, or even mixed into trail mix.
