Sweet And Salty Homemade Banana Chips
Sweet and salty banana chips are a grab and go, healthy snack option. These crisp fruit chips are made from sliced bananas and seasoned with salt and cinnamon for a satisfying snack for salty, sweet, or crunchy cravings.

While most of the time we have no problem going through a Costco sized bundle of bananas before they turn spotty, every now and then we don’t.
And while I can use the overripe ones to bake or freeze them for later, sometimes I don’t need the extra bananas for that either.
So instead of letting them go to waste because no one will touch them once they start to spot, we turn them into homemade banana chips.

These sweet and salty banana chips are an easy, light snack option we all love.
It hits all the cravings.
Salty.
Sweet.
Crunchy.
Total snacking perfection.
Ingredients
To make these you’ll need:

- Bananas– Slightly overripe bananas are perfect for this. Slice them thinly.
- Lemon juice– Bottled is fine. It just prevents the banana slices from oxidizing and browning.
- Water– To help the seasoning stick.
- Seasoning– Ground cinnamon and/or salt
How to Make
Homemade banana chips are so easy to make!

Just slice the bananas so the slices are all approximate 1/8″ thick.

Mix a teaspoon or so of lemon juice with a little water and brush this over the banana slices.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and kosher salt.

Bake at 250 degrees for about 90 minutes.
After 90 minutes, turn the slices and let them keep baking for another 30 minutes.

Let them cool before enjoying as a snack or side dish.

Storing
Store the banana chips in an airtight container or ziplocking bag on your counter for up to a week or so.
If you would like to keep them fresh for longer, store them in a vacuum sealed bag for up to 2 weeks.

Tips and Tricks
- The bananas will crisp up as they cool after you bake them.
- The exact amounts of water and lemon juice will depend on how many bananas you are using. If you are using more than 3 or 4, you may need to use an extra teaspoon or so of lemon juice and more water.
- Don’t worry if the lemon juice and water aren’t exact!
- You can adjust the seasoning to your liking and even skip the cinnamon if that’s not your thing.
- These are delicious on their own, as a yogurt topping, or even mixed into trail mix.
