You don’t need to be throwing a party to want to have a fancy cocktail or mocktail.
Honestly with only 3 ingredients and virtually no work whatsoever, I like to treat myself and feel a little fancy with this strawberry jam seltzer.
Yes, I totally tried it because TikTok made me so curious I just had to see what the hype was all about.
Let me tell you, it fully exceeded my expectations.
The jam gets blended into the seltzer with little pieces of it still in the cup so it’s almost like drinking a boba drink.
It’s absolutely delicious and extremely easy to customize to boot!
Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Club soda– Or soda water or plain seltzer.
- Jam– I recommend strawberry jam of course, but you could use your preferred flavor. Just make sure not to get the kind that has actual pieces of fruit in it.
- Ice
- Mint sprigs– For garnish and optimal fancy feelings
You’ll also want to have:
- a small whisk
- milk frother or immersion blender
- 14 ounce beer can tumbler glasses
How to Make
This jam seltzer is so easy to make!
To do it, add roughly 4 ounces of club soda or seltzer water into your glass.
Then add a tablespoon of jam.
Whisk the mixture to break up the jam into small pieces instead of one big chunk.
This happens quickly and should only take about 30 seconds.
Then swap the whisk for a milk frother and mix until there are only little bits of jam left intact.
Fill the cup with ice, making sure to leave enough room for some extra club soda.
Top off the glass with the rest of the club soda and garnish with a sprig of mint if desired.
Enjoy!
What can you add to seltzer to make it taste better?
The answer is obviously jam!
It adds a hint of sweetness and strawberry flavor that makes it so good!
Will this make flavored seltzer?
Yes! This strawberry jam seltzer recipe results in strawberry jam flavored seltzer or a nonalcoholic strawberry spritzer.
Perfect for anyone looking for a flavored seltzer or a strawberry mocktail!
Can you flavor seltzer with jelly?
Jam and jelly are very similar so jelly will work.
You do want to avoid using fruit preserves which are chunkier than both jelly and jam, and usually have seeds.
Tips and Tricks
- Use any flavor of jam you like just make sure not to get the kind with actual chunks of fruit or seeds in it as the bits will get stuck in your straw.
- Even after frothing the drink, you will have bits of jam in your drink that kind of get similar to boba as you drink them. If you don’t want this, microwave your jam before frothing it with the seltzer to smooth it down. Just remember it will take a bit longer for your drink to chill.
- For a stronger flavor or more sweetness, you can increase the amount of jam you use. I have made these with up to 3 tablespoons of jam per drink.
- Don’t make these ahead of time. They will taste watered down and loose their carbonation.
- If the jam flavor is too strong for you, you can always add an extra splash of seltzer.
