There are some food combinations that are just classic.

Peanut butter and jelly.

Spaghetti and meatballs.

Chocolate and strawberries.

That last one is a real treat anytime I have it.

  • Candy melts– Orange ones. You can find these at most craft stores or online. I like Wilton’s.
  • Strawberries– Use large strawberries. Wash them first.

That’s it, though you will also want the following kitchen supplies:

  • A microwave safe dish
  • Piping bag or a ziplocking bag that you will snip the corner off of once it’s filled
  • Parchment paper

How to Make

These Easter chocolate covered strawberry carrots are so easy to make!

Wash and dry your strawberries.

Then add your melting candies into a microwave safe dish.

Microwave them on high for 45 seconds.

After 45 seconds, stir the candy.

Microwave again for another 45 seconds.

Stir until the candy is smooth and melted.

Hold a strawberry by the stem and dip it into the orange melted candy, letting any excess drip off.

Lay the coated strawberry down on parchment paper as you dip the rest of the strawberries.

Scoop the remaining melted candy into a piping bag and cut a small tip off.

Drizzle the melted candy on top of each strawberry in a back and forth motion.

Let the melted chocolate set.

Serve and enjoy!

Storing

After the chocolate covered strawberry carrots set and the chocolate is no longer soft to the touch, you can take the strawberries off the parchment paper and transfer them into a large airtight container in a single layer.

Refrigerate them for up to 3 days and do not store them on the counter.

Serving Ideas

These Easter strawberries are super cute on their own but also adorable on other desserts.

Use them to make:

  • carrot patch brownies
  • carrot patch dirt cups with pudding and Oreo crumbs
  • garnish for carrot cake or any cake really!

Tips and Tricks

  • Keep in mind that microwaves vary in strength. If your microwave is more powerful, reduce the cook time on the chocolate to 30 second intervals.
  • The candy may not look melted after the second round but when you start to stir it it will melt!
  • Don’t overheat the candy. The candy melts will seize up and get sort of chunky and you’ll have to start over with new melts.
