It makes it feel special for them and honestly it delights me to do something that adds a little extra oomph to their day.
Plus when it’s so easy to whip up a quick punch- why not?
And this Santa snowball punch is fast and easy to make and it is full of sweet, tart flavor you and your kids will love.
What is Santa Snowball Punch?
This recipe is a punch variation that combines classic punch with an ice cream float.
It features tart cranberry flavor, fizzy lemon lime soda and, raspberry jam and dollops of vanilla ice cream.
The resulting drink has a pretty red color just like Santa’s outfit with snowballs of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
You only need a few things to make this yummy treat.
To make it you need:
- Cranberry nectar– This is a blend of apple, cranberry and white grape juice. If you can’t find it you can always substitute cranberry juice.
- Red raspberry jam– Make sure you use seedless jam here.
- Lemon lime soda– Use your favorite kind and chill it.
- Vanilla ice cream– Don’t substitute another flavor ice cream in this recipe.
How to Make
Part of the fun of making festive punch recipes is it only take a minute to put together!
To make this, start by adding the juice, jam and soda to a punch bowl. Whisk them together until they are evenly combined.
Once you have the liquid base, scoop several balls of vanilla ice cream on the surface of the punch.
Ladle the punch into glasses and serve each glass topped with an ice cream scoop snowball.
This snowball punch recipe yields roughly 24 1 cup servings, or 48 1/2 cup servings.
Also, there shouldn’t be any need to add ice to the actual punch, as the scooped ice cream will cool it off.
Tips and Tricks
- Make sure the raspberry jam is seedless. Seeded jam will make for an unappealing texture in the drink.
- When you scoop the ice cream into the drink, take care not to agitate the drink too much. If you mix it up while scooping, the punch will turn more pink than red.
- To keep the punch mixture cool, set the punch bowl into a cooler full of ice.
