Girl Scout Cookie season just might be the best season out there.

Yes, this takes into account the holiday season and even fall.

That’s how much I love me a Thin Mint or a Samoa.

And this Samoa cookie milkshake is a creamy homage to the delightful cookies with its blend of flavors perfectly inspired by them.

Are Samoas and Caramel deLites the same thing?

Don’t panic if you live in a part of the country where the Girl Scouts don’t sell Samoa cookies.

Caramel deLites and Samoas have all the same flavors- chocolate, caramel, and toasted coconut.

The differences are minimal with Samoas having a darker chocolate and more toasted coconut and Caramel deLites having a softer cookie and milk chocolate.

They are just made by different bakeries and distributed in different areas of the country.

But either will do in this milkshake.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Samoa cookies– Or Caramel deLites if that’s what’s available.
  • Milk– Whole milk is best
  • Ice cream– Use a good quality vanilla ice cream
  • Caramel sauce– The kind you get near the ice cream toppings
  • Chocolate syrup– Like Hershey’s
  • Toppings– Whipped cream, more caramel sauce, and toasted coconut flakes

How to Make

This Samoa cookie milkshake is so easy to make.

To do it, just add the cookies, milk, ice cream, and caramel sauce to a high powered blender.

Blend it until creamy and smooth.

Swirl some chocolate syrup down and around the insides of a glass cup.

Pour in the milkshake.

Top the shake with whipped cream, coconut flakes, chocolate syrup, and caramel sauce.

Garnish with another cookie if desired and enjoy!

You really can’t store leftover milkshakes and this one is no different.

Tips and Tricks

  • Use good ice cream for the best results. Since ice cream is the focus of the recipe, you’ll want to use the more premium kind.
  • You can add the toppings to suit your taste.
  • Feel free to experiment with ice cream flavors. While I use vanilla, caramel swirl or coconut ice cream would also be delicious.

  1. This is so right up my ally! I’m pinning this to save for next week on my vacation – to enjoy while the boys are napping of course :)

    1. I just made this and it was DELICIOUS! I had to go to a few girl scout cooking selling locations to buy my coveted box of Samoas but its as totally worth it :) Thanks again for sharing this recipe, huge hit!

      1. I’m so glad you liked it, Katie! Everybody here wanted it so unfortunately the kids’ and hubby’s box lasted like two days. My own stash is hidden and I’ll get my sweet tooth in check while they’re in school so I can hide (clean) the evidence!

  2. Ugh! The problem with blender. I got the same problem, too. But gladly, I have changed the blades and worked again. I am having a problem now with the kneading blade of a food processor that cannot stand to knead even for just five minutes. (Sigh!)

This looks absolutely perfect, btw. And I would kill to have a glass of this! :D

  3. Girl Scout Cookie season is such a treat, and turning those Samoas into a milkshake is a brilliant idea. Using a high-quality vanilla ice cream really makes a difference when you want that thick, shop-style consistency at home. That chocolate syrup swirl in the glass looks beautiful and makes it feel like a fancy dessert!
