These mini spring chick cupcakes are an adorable, easy cupcake perfect for any spring occasion. Perfect to do with the kids, this easy, semi homemade spring dessert would be a cute end to any Easter or Spring themed celebration.

Mini Spring Chick Cupcakes

I know Easter and spring means bunnies everywhere. And I am all about bunny themed treats. Have you seen my Easter bunny butt chocolate cheesecake cheese ball? Or these adorable strawberry cream cheese bunny buns?

Really cute. But as much as I love bunnies, I adore chicks. Fuzzy, fluffy yellow chicks hold a soft spot in my heart, possibly because I raise chickens but more likely because they are cute.

Mini Spring Chick Cupcakes

And these chick cupcakes are just as cute as real chicks if you ask me. And they are so easy to do. You just need a box of white cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil for the cupcakes themselves. After you mix the cake batter, just line a mini cupcake pan with mini cupcake liners.

I like the yellow liners I used for these mini chick cupcakes but really any mini liners would do. If you wanted to continue with the spring theme, using multicolored pastel liners would work too.

Once you line the cupcake pans, scoop the batter into each cavity, filling them halfway. Be sure not to fill them more than halfway or the cupcakes won’t have the nice flat surface to create the chick face on. Once filled, pop them into the oven and bake them.

Mini Spring Chick Cupcakes

Once the cupcakes cool, attach a 1M piping tip, which is the large star tip onto a piping bag. Fill the bag with yellow icing. Then, steadily press on the piping bag as you rotate the frosting slowly around the cupcake to get the feathered, ruffled icing look. After you have the cupcakes frosted, you can start making the chick’s faces.

You’ll need candy eyes, which you can find in the baking section of most craft stores.Just put two candy eyes on each iced cupcake. After that, place one orange Reese’s Piece on its side between the two candy eyes for the chick’s nose. Repeat until done. Super easy, and perfect to do with even the littlest kids.

And get the kids involved because they’ll have just as much fun making these adorable mini spring chick cupcakes as they will eating them.

Yellow icing? Do we make this, and if so,
how? Or are we expected to buy it?
