If you’re a fan of McDonald’s McGriddles, you’re going to love this fun breakfast casserole inspired by the popular sandwich.

It has everything that makes the original so irresistible, including fluffy pancakes, savory sausage, melty cheese, and just the right touch of maple sweetness in every bite.

And I love it because I don’t have to stand at the stove making breakfast sandwiches before I’ve had my coffee.

Instead I put it together in one dish and pop it in the oven, sit back, and sip my morning caffeine in peace.

And while it’s perfect as a make it once and enjoy it all week kind of breakfast, it also feeds a hungry crowd on Christmas morning or other special brunch occasions with very little work.

The resulting casserole is a hearty, slightly sweet and savory combination of all the flavors from the McGriddle that you know and love.

It will be an instant hit with anyone who loves the fast food sandwich.

Pour the batter into a 9×13″ baking dish you’ve sprayed with nonstick spray, spreading the batter out in an even layer.

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or just until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Carefully take the casserole out of the oven and spread the butter evenly out overtop.

Let it rest for 5 minutes.

Slice and serve it with extra maple syrup drizzled overtop.

Enjoy!
