And it’s quick and easy to make so you can enjoy it whenever you’d like!

What is yum yum sauce?

Yum yum sauce is a tangy sauce that’s a combination of mayonnaise, ketchup or tomato paste, vinegar, and seasonings.

Often times, you’ll see it at a Japanese steakhouse as a dipping sauce for shrimp.

Storing

Store homemade yum yum sauce in an airtight container like a mason jar in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Tips and Tricks

  • Add the water a little bit at a time so you are sure the sauce will be the right consistency. Adding too much at once can lead to sauce that is too thin.
  • Give the sauce a taste before serving and adjust the seasonings as needed.
  • Let the sauce rest in the fridge. It needs the time for all the flavors to meld.
