Chicken Caesar Club Sandwich Sub
A chicken caesar club sandwich sub puts a fancier spin on the traditional chicken club style sandwich. Instead of layering chicken caesar salad ingredients between 3 slices of bread, we turned toasted baguettes into hoagie rolls to hold the yummy filling.
Chicken caesar club sandwich subs are a lunchtime main my whole family can agree on.
What’s not to love with tender, juicy chicken, crisp bacon, refreshing romaine and creamy caesar dressing all loaded onto a toasted baguette?
We’re talking sandwich *chef’s kiss* perfection.
What is a club sandwich?
The ‘club sandwich’ isn’t a brand new thing.
In fact, there are references to it verified as far back as 1899!
Traditionally, club sandwiches served between 3 pieces of warm or toasted white bread with thick layers of sliced chicken, crunch bacon, crisp lettuce, and juicy slices of tomatoes all slathered in a yummy spread of mayo.
This version keeps the bacon and the chicken but replaces mayo for Caesar dressing and bread for a baguette.

Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Chicken breasts– Either grilled chicken breasts sliced into strips or slightly pulled apart rotisserie chicken.
- Bacon– Cooked crisp
- Butter– Softened
- Baguette– You could also use sub or hoagie rolls
- Caesar dressing– Go for a creamy style Caesar dressing.
- Spinach– Baby spinach leaves. Not a fan? Use romaine instead.
- Sun dried tomatoes– The kind packed in oil. Just drain them first.
- Parmesan cheese– Grated, shredded, or shaved.
- Salt and pepper
How to Make
Making these chicken caesar club sandwich subs is so easy!
Start by toasting a buttered baguette you’ve slice the baguette in half lengthwise in a 350 degree oven on a baking pan, cut sides up, for 5-7 minutes.
When the bread is lightly toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before generously spreading your favorite creamy caesar dressing on both sides.
Top the bottom half of the bread with a layer a bed of spinach leaves followed by drained sun dried tomatoes.
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the veggies.
Then layer on the bacon slices, then the chicken, and salt and pepper.
Top everything with another layer of spinach leaves.
Close the sandwich with the top baguette half.
Slice, and serve immediately, or seal and refrigerate, up to 12 hours before serving.
Can I make chicken caesar club sandwich subs ahead of time?
Yes.
You can make them up to 12 hours prior to serving.
If you plan to make them ahead of time, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving.
Storing Leftovers
I don’t recommend storing leftovers for more than a day or so.
If you have leftovers, wrap them tightly in plastic and refrigerate them.
Tips and Tricks
- You can customize these a bit by using your preferred green instead of spinach.
- No sun dried tomatoes? Use fresh instead or skip them altogether.
- For a spicy kick, you could toss your chicken in buffalo sauce first.
- Feel free to add some extra Italian cheese to the mix. Sliced mozzarella or provolone would be delicious.

Chicken Caesar Club Sub Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1-2 grilled chicken breasts, sliced into strips or slightly pulled apart
- 4 slices crisp bacon
- 1 tbsp butter (optional), softened
- 1 baguette, roughly 12" long
- thick & creamy Caesar dressing
- fresh baby spinach leaves, washed & dried
- 1/2 cup packed sun dried tomatoes in olive oil, drained
- grated or shredded Parmesan cheese
- salt & pepper
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees. While the oven's heating, slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Divide the butter, and spread out evenly over each inside half of the baguette. Place the baguette on a baking pan, cut sides up, and bake for 5-7 minutes, or just until lightly toasted.
- When the bread's cooled slightly, spread both sides generously with your favorite Caesar dressing. Don't skimp- you don't want it to all squeeze out, but you'll want the flavor and the moisture.
- On the bottom half of the bread, layer a bed of spinach leaves. Top that with the drained tomatoes. Sprinkle on Parmesan cheese. Add the bacon slices, then the chicken, and salt & pepper, to taste. Top with another layer of spinach leaves, then the top baguette half. Slice, and serve immediately, or seal and refrigerate, up to 12 hours before serving.
