If there’s one mistake you don’t want to make in the South, it’s letting people know that you don’t really like sweet tea. Seriously, you’ll be met with an audible gasp followed by a ‘bless your heart’ over the sheet tragedy of the situation.
While I may not be the fan of sweet tea that the rest of my family is, I do however enjoy a classic Arnold Palmer. Nicknamed after the golfing pro, it’s a drink that’s equal parts lemonade and sweet tea.
If you’re a fan of Chick Fil A, you’ve probably heart it called Sunshine Tea.
Instead of adding ice to my drink that will quickly melt and dilute it, I decided to pour it into a popsicle mold and freeze it instead.
It was a stroke of genius, and quickly became a Summer staple in our home for some tasty relief from Virginia’s high heat and humidity.
Make a batch today, and beat the heat in the most deliciously refreshing way!

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, you’re ready to get started.
How To Make
Luckily, even with making the drinks from scratch, these Lemonade Iced Tea Popsicles are super easy to make.
Start by making the sweet tea since it will need time to cool before using in the recipe.
Bring two cups of water to a rolling boil then pour over tea bags, or just add the tea bags to the pot and remove it from heat.
Let the tea sit and steep for 5 full minutes, then carefully squeeze the tea bags and remove them from the pot and discard. I do this using a wooden spoon and just squeeze them against the side of the pot.
Add 3/4 cup of granulated white sugar and whisk until it’s completely dissolved into the tea.
Add a cup of ice to the mixture, stirring until dissolved. Set the tea aside and prepare the lemonade.
In a small sauce pan stir together the sugar and one cup of room temperature water.
Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, whisking until all the sugar’s been dissolved. Remove from heat and let sit while the syrup cools to room temperature.
Pour the cooled syrup into the chilled water along with the lemon juice, stirring until evenly incorporated.
Add sweet tea to the popsicle molds filling only to 3/4 of the way. Finish filling with lemonade to the mold’s designated fill line.
Use a stirrer to gently muddle the mixture to combine.
Insert the popsicle sticks and freeze until solid.
Gently run the molds under warm water for a few seconds to release the lemonade sweet tea iced popsicles when ready to enjoy.
Once removed from the molds, popsicles should be eaten right away.
Storing
These iced tea pops with lemonade can be store in their molds in the freezer for up to one week, any longer and you risk freezer burn.
