When Fall rolls around we keep our backyard fire pit rolling.
It’s a cozy way to end the evenings, and I can’t count how many hot dogs my sons have cooked over it through the years.
A quick and easy dinner with no messy clean up for mom. That’s what I call a win!
Pair it with toasted marshmallows for dessert? Everyone’s always happy.
But we really love our s’mores, even when the weather isn’t ideal.
No fire pit? Well it’s no problem when you’ve got this air fryer s’mores recipe handy.
Rain or shine, Fall or Summer- we can always get our s’mores fix now!
Ingredients Needed
Just like traditional campfire cooked s’mores, this air fryer recipe only needs the basics.
- Graham Crackers – We like using the honey grahams, but you could also use the chocolate or cinnamon versions. Each cracker will need to be broken in half to form two equal squares.
- Marshmallows – Jumbo sized, plain marshmallows- flavored or stuffed ones will also work if you want to shake things up just make sure they’re full size.
- Chocolate – Hershey’s chocolate bars, broken into squares roughly the same size as your graham crackers.
If you’ve got those 3 ingredients, you’re ready to make a batch of quick & easy air fryer s’mores.
How To Make
To start, place four graham cracker squares in the basket of your air fryer.
These four squares are going to be the bottom of your s’mores.
Hershey’s bars are nicely sections into little pieces with pre-pressed lines.
Carefully break them apart, and add two of those chocolate bar pieces to the center of each graham cracker square in the air fryer basket.
Add the basket back to the air fryer to close, being careful not to shake it to much and disturb the chocolate topped graham crackers.
Cook at 380F for 1 minute. I know it’s not a lot of time, but trust me- this step is just to get the chocolate to begin melting.
Carefully open the hot basket. Without touching the hot basket, add one marshmallow to the center of each chocolate covered square.
Using a clean finger tip, gently press each marshmallow down ONCE in the center.
Return the basket to the air fryer, careful not to jostle the crackers too much.
Cook at 390F for another 2 minutes- just until the marshmallows have puffed and are a golden brown on the outside.
Using a fork, or a small spatula, carefully remove the hot s’mores from the hot air fryer basket. Transfer them to a serving plate.
Top each one with another graham cracker square, and let them rest for 1-2 minutes.
Serve warm & enjoy!
Storing
Just like a classic campfire s’more, these air fryer s’mores don’t store well and are best made fresh.
If you have leftover ingredients, store them separately.
Combine them to make more when ready to enjoy this s’mores recipe again.
Notes On Using An Air Fryer To Make S’mores
Be extra careful when working with these s’mores during the cooking process, and even when removing them from the air fryer basket.
When using an air fryer, you’re essentially using a miniature convection oven that’s circulating super heated air to cook.
Things will be HOT.
TIPS & TRICKS
- Want to change things up? Heath, Mr. Good, Symphony, and Krackel chocolate bars all will work in place of the traditional Hershey’s chocolate bar squares.
- Watch the chocolate, performing a test batch if needed. Chocolate can scorch quickly, and you want it to just be melted for these air fryer s’mores.
- Different models may cook differently, you can adjust the cook time and temperature as needed.
- Have a parent test these s’mores first before letting the kids dig in (to avoid any burnt tongues)!
