Peanut butter and jelly is a childhood classic, full of nostalgia.
The flavor combo brings back so many memories of school lunches and picnics and just the fun of being a kid.
Eating it takes me right back.
And I love it in frozen form like in this easy nice cream.
It’s still just as a yummy and a lightened up decadent tasting dessert that will satisfy all your ice cream cravings.
What is nice cream?
Nice cream is a sugar free, dairy free frozen dessert made from frozen bananas.
Many nice cream recipes are simply frozen whipped bananas and vanilla and taste sort of like vanilla soft serve.
This version adds in the flavors of pbj.
Ingredients
To make this, healthy peanut butter ice cream, you’ll need:
- Bananas– Frozen
- Peanut butter– Your favorite kind but don’t use a natural variety.
- Jelly– We use grape, but you could sub out strawberry if you prefer.
How to Make
This healthy dessert is so easy to make!
To do it, put the peanut butter and the frozen bananas into a high speed blender or food processor.
Blend on high for several minutes, or until the mixture is creamy.
Make sure to scrape down the sides several times as to fully incorporate everything.
Transfer to a freezer safe dish and use a spatula to gently fold in the jelly, but not fully stirring them together to create ribbons of jelly throughout.
Enjoy immediately for a soft serve ice cream or seal the dish and freeze overnight for firm ice cream.
Serve and enjoy!
How do you store nice cream?
Store nice cream in a freezer safe, air tight container in the freezer.
It will keep for up to 3 months.
Is nice cream healthy?
It has less fat and calories than traditional ice cream.
If you use sugar free peanut butter and jelly, it can be lower sugar as well.
