Slow Cooker Peanut Butter Banana Cake

Slow cooker peanut butter banana cake is a an easy dessert inspired by Elvis Presley's love of peanut butter banana sandwiches. It's absolutely packed with rich flavor and moisture thanks to a pack of banana pudding mixture. Let your slow cooker make a dessert fit for The King!

Ingredients

  • 1 3.5 oz pkg instant banana pudding and pie mix
  • 3 cup skim milk
  • 1 15.25 oz box yellow cake mix + ingredients called for on package
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter divided
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • Chocolate sauce for topping
  • Banana slices for topping
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  • Spray a 6qt slow cooker pot with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Using a medium bowl, whisk together for 2 minutes the milk and pudding mix until soft.

  • Pour soft pudding into the cooker and set aside.
  • Following the directions on the back of the cake mix box, prepare the cake batter, mixing in the 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter.
    1 15.25 oz box yellow cake mix, 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • Pour the cake batter over the pudding
  • Bake on low for 4 hours or until a tooth pick comes out clean from being poked in the center.
  • Turn the crock pot off and remove lid
  • Sprinkle the peanut butter chips and chocolate chips over the top and cover back up with the lid.
    1 cup peanut butter chips, 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • Allow to sit for 10 minutes
  • Heat the remaining peanut butter in the microwave for 15 seconds
  • Scoop out some gooey goodness into a bowl and top with the peanut butter and chocolate sauce, sliced banana's and vanilla ice cream

Notes

  • Do not forget the nonstick spray on the bowl of your slow cooker! It will make clean up a million times easier.
  • If you have leftover cake and leftover sliced bananas, make sure you do not store the cake with the bananas. In fact, I'd probably discard leftover banana slices as they will brown and get mushy.
  • Want to have even more fun with this? Instead of vanilla ice cream, try a flavor with peanut butter like peanut butter ripple or even chocolate peanut butter.
