Ingredients

  • 2 stick Unsalted Butter melted
  • 4 Extra Large Eggs
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste
  • Powdered Sugar for topping
  • Butter to grease your baking dish
  • Ice Cream for serving

Instructions

  • Start by beating your eggs and sugar together for roughly 10 minutes, until nice and smooth.
4 Extra Large Eggs, 2 cups Sugar
  • Sift together your flour and cocoa and set aside.
3/4 cup Cocoa powder, 1/2 cup Flour
  • While continuing to mix, add your vanilla bean paste to your egg and sugar mixture. Followed by your flour and cocoa mixture.
    1/2 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste
  • Once everything is well combined, add in your melted butter slowly. Stop mixing once it’s combined.
    2 stick Unsalted Butter
  • Pour mixture into a greased (with butter) casserole dish. Place your casserole dish in a larger dish and fill with hot water until half of your casserole dish is covered. This is called a water bath.
    Butter
  • Bake at 325 degrees for one hour, then allow to cool.
  • Top with powdered sugar, and serve with ice cream. Enjoy!
    Powdered Sugar, Ice Cream

Notes

  • Make sure to grease the brownie pan liberally with butter.
  • Don't have a 2 quart oval casserole dish? A 9" pie plate holds a similar volume though it is shallower and wider so check it for doneness at 40 minutes. You can also use a 9x12 casserole dish, again checking for doneness at 40 minutes.
  • Don't skip on the water bath. It helps the pudding cook evenly, the pudding stay moist, and prevents the sides from burning and the eggs from curdling.
