Gingerbread Milkshakes

A rich and creamy treat these Gingerbread Milkshakes are the most delicious way to infuse classic holiday flavor into a classic milkshake. A smooth mixture of rich eggnog, gingersnaps, and velvety vanilla ice cream comes together in a quick and easy dessert that's full of holiday flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 4 gingersnap cookies
  • whipped cream, for topping
  • crumbled gingersnap cookies, for topping

Instructions

  • To the bowl of a high powered blender, add the eggnog, ice cream, and cookies- in that order. Blend until smooth & creamy.
    4 cups vanilla ice cream, 1 cup eggnog, 4 gingersnap cookies
  • Pour the mixture out into two glasses. Top with whipped cream and crumbled ginger snaps. Add decorative straws, if using. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Sometimes frozen ice cream can be hard to scoop, especially to measure. I recommend letting it sit on the counter for a few minutes to soften up beforehand.
  • Milkshakes don't store well, so don't try to make these ahead of time even for guests for a dinner or party. You can however double or even triple the batch, depending on the side of your blender.
  • As written this recipe is a family friendly treat that can be enjoyed by all ages. However, if you're making it for adults you can turn it into an ice cream cocktail by adding a shot or two of either brandy or dark rum.
