Steak Teriyaki (Slow Cooker Recipe)

Slow cooker steak teriyaki is a delicious easy recipe that requires only a few minutes of prep time. This quick dinner recipe features tender beef and sweet pineapples in a thick teriyaki glaze that's served over a bed of white rice. Ingredients

  • 3 lbs stew beef
  • 1 bottle teriyaki sauce
  • 1 20 oz can pineapple tidbits drained
  • 1 8 oz can water chestnuts drained (optional)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • steamed white rice for serving

Instructions

  • Add the beef to the bowl of your slow cooker. Season with salt & pepper.

  • Add the pineapple & water chestnuts to the crock pot. Pour the teriyaki sauce evenly out over top. Stir gently to combine all of the ingredients.

  • Cook on low for 4-5 hours.
  • Turn the crockpot on high.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Pour the slurry into the pot, stirring to incorporate.

  • Allow the mixture to cook another 5-10 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
  • Ladle the cooked steak teriyaki over warm bowls of steamed white rice to serve.

  • Top with thinly sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

  • For quicker cooking cook on HIGH heat for 2-3 hours, just until the beef's cooked through and tender. Follow the slurry directions as instructed.
  • Add some crushed red pepper flakes or a couple dashes of sriracha sauce to the mixture before cooking to infuse it with some heat.
  • Serve over steamed white rice, and pair with a simple side like steamed broccoli or sauteed green beans to make it a full meal.
