6 tbsp salted butter, 1 16 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • Add the extract and cereals and stir together until everything's evenly combined.
1 tsp vanilla extract, 5 cups plain rice krispies cereal, 4 cups fruity pebble cereal
  • Lightly spray your clean hands and the inside of the plastic Easter eggs with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Add the mixture to both halves of each egg, overfilling them slightly. Squeeze the eggs together, until shut, to seal. Gently remove any excess cereal mixture from the edges.
  • Repeat until all the mixture is used, or you've filled all your eggs- whichever comes first.
  • Chill the eggs in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to help them set.
  • Open the eggs and gently squeeze the sides to release the rice krispie treat eggs, then transfer them to a serving plate.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Spray your clean hands, the inside of the plastic eggs, and even the stirring spoon/spatula with nonstick spray before using them with the treat mixture otherwise it will stick mercilessly to everything.
  • The total number of egg shaped treats this recipe will make will vary some, depending on the size of your plastic eggs.
  • Don't let them sit in the fridge for more than 10 minutes for optimal texture. The fridge tends to make cereal treats a little soggy if they are in it for too long.
