Glazed Gingerbread Loaf

A sweet, savory loaf of cake like gingerbread is topped with a powdered sugar based glazed. Each slice is perfection, whether you're serving them for Christmas brunch or dessert.

For The Gingerbread Loaf

  • 1 ½ cups of Flour
  • 2 teaspoons of Cinnamon
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons of Ground Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • ½ cup Cabot Creamery butter softened
  • 1 cup of Dixie Crystal's granulated sugar
  • 4 Eggs

For The Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups Dixie Crystal's powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp half & half
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  • Start by mixing your flour, cinnamon, ginger, salt and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
  • In a separate mixing bowl cream together your butter, sugar, and eggs.
  • Slowly add your flour mixture to the cream mixture, while mixing.
  • Mix until well blended.
  • Fill your greased bread pan with batter.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes on bottom rack.
  • Move to top rack and bake at 225 for 20 more minutes or until baked through.
  • Let cool.
  • Mix together you powdered sugar, half and half, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  • Glaze your loaf of bread and slice.
  • Serve and enjoy!
