- ½ cup water
- ⅓ cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
- 2 cloves fresh garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the water, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch.
½ cup water, ⅓ cup soy sauce, 3 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, 2 cloves fresh garlic, 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Transfer to stovetop over medium heat and cook, whisking occasionally, until the sauce is bubbling and thickened. Add additional water if necessary to achieve desired consistency.
- If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out by whisking in a little more water.
- Keep in mind what you are planning to use it for. Are you planning to use it as a glaze? If so, you'll want it thinner. If you want a marinade, you'll want it thicker.
- The beauty of any homemade condiment or sauce is you can adjust it to your liking by adjusting the amount of honey, garlic or ginger.
