Homemade Chocolate Turtles Candy

- 1 bag melting chocolate about 2 cups
- 80 pecan halves about 2 cups
- 1 bag soft caramels about 18-20
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
Melt the chocolate in a pan over low heat, or in the microwave in 30 second intervals; set aside
1 bag melting chocolate
Arrange the pecan halves in an X shape on a parchment lined baking sheet
80 pecan halves
Melt the caramel with the heavy cream in a pan over low heat, or in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stir well to combine
1 bag soft caramels, 1 tbsp heavy cream
Add the caramel mixture to the center of each pecan cluster (if the hot caramel gets too difficult to work with you can reheat it to melt it again)
Top each turtle with a generous scoop of melted chocolate
Place turtles into the fridge to firm up for about 20 minutes
- If the hot caramel gets too difficult to work with you can reheat it to melt it again.
- To keep the chocolate at a good temperature, place the container or bowl with the melted chocolate in it over a bowl full of hot water.
- If you plan to gift these, put them in a pretty container or giftable tins.
- Be careful when melting both the chocolate and caramel to melt over low heat and stir often so they don't burn.
