Harry Potter Pumpkin Pasties

Harry Potter pumpkin pasties bring the wizarding world into your house with this spellbinding treat. Creamy, perfectly spiced pumpkin filling gets wrapped in pie crust for a delicious hand held pastry.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 9" premade refrigerated pie crusts
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  • In a medium bowl, mash together the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
    4 oz. cream cheese, ½ cup granulated sugar
  • Add the pumpkin, egg and spices and mix well.
    ¾ cup pumpkin puree, 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Cut the pie dough into 10 4-5” circles, then place on the prepared baking sheet. Add a dollop of pumpkin mixture to the center of each pie crust. Fold in half, then use a fork to crimp the edges together. Use a sharp knife to cut slits on the top of the pie.
    2 9" premade refrigerated pie crusts
  • Brush with melted butter, then bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
    3 tablespoons melted butter

Notes

  • Let the cream cheese sit out on the counter prior to making the filling so it is nice and soft for mixing.
  • You could substitute 1.5 teaspoons of pumpkin spice for the individual seasonings.
  • Don't skip cutting slits into the pasties. They need the vent in order for the steam to escape.
