  • 32 oz Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 5 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 cups Vinegar

Instructions

  • Start by adding your ketchup, pepper, paprika, butter, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and vinegar to a large pot.
32 oz Ketchup, 2 tbsp Black Pepper, 2 tbsp Smoked Paprika, 1 stick Butter, 5 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce, 1 6 oz can tomato paste, 1 1/2 cups Vinegar
  • If you want a sweeter BBQ sauce, replace the Worcestershire with the brown sugar.
    2 cups Brown Sugar
  • For something even more savory add onion powder. Totally just a preference.
    2 tbsp Onion Powder
  • Boil until thick. It takes some time, keep stirring.
  • Pour into mason jars, and let cool. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the spices to your taste. That's part of the beauty of homemade barbecue sauce!
  • No matter if you want your sauce sweet or savory, I highly recommend using the smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
  • You can add a little heat if you want with a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes or even adding a tablespoon or two of adobo pepper sauce.
