- 1 boneless ham
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Lightly spray the inside of your crockpot's bowl with non stick cooking spray.
Open the ham, draining off excess juices, and discard the packaging. Transfer the ham to the prepared bowl of the crockpot. If the ham's a little too big, it can easily be cut down to fit.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar, mustard, and vinegar until the mixture's smooth & evenly combined. Pour the sauce, as evenly as possible, out over the ham.
Cover the crockpot with it's lid, and cook on low heat for 3-5 hours. If you want to be absolutely sure the meat's done, insert a meat thermometer into the ham and it should read 140°.
Turn off the slow cooker, and carefully transfer the ham to a waiting cutting board. Loosely tent it with foil, and allow it to rest for a full ten minutes. Slice the ham, and plate it.
Whisk the juices in the pot to combine. Ladle them over the ham slices, or pour into a gravy boat and serve so that it's an option.
- Use a meat thermometer to make sure the internal temperature is 140 degrees. The meat will continue to cook a bit as it rests, so if it is near 140, you can let it rest and it should finish cooking.
- Unlike other meats, you don't need to sear the ham. Just set it and let it cook for several hours.
- If the ham doesn't fit into your slow cooker, cut it and then place the ham in so it fits.
