Bubble Up Pizza Casserole

This bubble up pizza dinner cooks in a single casserole dish and tastes just like a meaty pizza chock full of sausage and sliced pepperoni with plenty of melted cheese. It’s a dinner full of family friendly flavors love, and because it’s ready in under 30 minutes- it’s a hit with both busy parents and hungry kids!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 15 oz jar jar pizza sauce
  • 1 16.3 oz tube refrigerated Pillsbury Grands biscuits
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • pepperoni slices
  • Italian seasoning optional

Instructions

  • If you’re not using pre-cooked sausage, brown your sausage now. When fully cooked and crumbled, drain the sausage.
    1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • Open the biscuits, separate them, then cut each biscuit into eighths.
  • In a bowl, combine sausage, cut biscuits, and pizza sauce. Stir to combine.
    1 15 oz jar jar pizza sauce, 1 16.3 oz tube refrigerated Pillsbury Grands biscuits
  • Spread this mixture evenly into a lightly greased 9×13 baking dish.
  • Top the mixture with the shredded cheese and pepperoni.
    2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices
  • If desired sprinkle the top with a bit of Italian seasoning.

  • Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for about 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You could add other toppings to this. A drained can of sliced black olives, sliced mushroom, and peppers would all be yummy and add veggies into the mix.
  • If you are planning this meal for a busy night, brown the sausage ahead of time.
  • Don't like sausage? Skip it or brown up some ground beef seasoned with Italian seasoning and garlic and use that instead.
