In a small bowl add both the sauces, and whisk together until evenly combined. Pour the sauce overtop of the meatballs. Stir together gently to combine.
1 1/2 cups apple butter, 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
Cover and cook on HIGH heat for 3 - 3 1/2 hours, stirring well halfway through the cook time.
Stir the meatballs well, then serve warm and enjoy, either over steamed white rice with bell peppers for garnish or as is with toothpicks as an appetizer.

- The barbecue sauce really determines how spicy the meatballs will be. Use a mild barbecue sauce for less spicy meatballs or spicy sauce for a sweet and spicy sauce.
- While I normally have beef meatballs on hand, this recipe would work beautifully with chicken or turkey meatballs as well.
- You can substitute any fruit butter but if you want to keep these feeling autumnal, I recommend sticking to apple butter or using pumpkin butter instead.
